Here is a simple chili recipe that even most men can make. This is the chili I grew up on, that mom used to make. I like that it has just a few ingredients, and doesn’t take long to make. Tastes great over spaghetti and topped with cheese for a 3-way. Here is what you need:
1 lb. of ground beef
1 15 oz can of chili beans or kidney beans
1 28 oz can of tomato sauce (or 2 15 oz cans)
2 tbs chili powder
1 small onion
Make the ground beef in a skillet, while breaking it up with your spatula into small pieces. At the same time, finely chop your onion and add all the other ingredients into a pot. Also take about 1 15 oz can of water, and dump that in when you stir it all together.
Once the beef is cooked, drain the grease and drop it into the pot. You are done! It is better to let it simmer for a few hours, or even make it the day before so all the flavors meld together. This is simple, good chili that most normal people will like.
Also remember that the ingredients matter. The best batch I ever made was when I bought my beans and organic tomato sauce from Trader Joe’s, but you can get it anywhere.
